Anna Atkins

Anna Atkins is most famous for her cyanotype photographs.  They are quite beautiful. She was an English botanist, photographer, and the first person to publish a book illustrated exclusively with photographic images. She was born in New York. Science is the theme clearly of all her prints.  She displays in such a unique way the beauty of specimens and plants.  I love her work because it is so different than my photography and what most people see as photography.  She is full of concept and math and unique shapes.
